smoothie time: fig berry bowl

Fig season is almost over. *cries*

But that doesn't mean we cannot enjoy a delicious recipe while there are still figs lurking at the farmers markets and grocery stores.

If you're as big a fan of figs as I am, you use them for everything when the season comes. so of course we'll put them in a smoothie! <3

This delicious and bold purple smoothie bowl is a perfect breakfast or midday treat. It can even be a delicious dessert! However you serve it, you'll enjoy a delicious burst of end-of-summer seasonal fruits and a fulfillment from the hidden ingredients.

Portions: 1 medium bowl

Ingredients (inside):

1 frozen banana

1/2 cup frozen (or fresh) blueberries

1/2 cup blackberries

1/4 avocado

1 handful spinach

3-6 figs, chopped (add as many as you'd like to have either a light hint or strong flavor)

1 cup hazelnut milk

Garnish:

2-3 Figs, 1/4 slices

4-5 Blackberries

1- 2 pinch flax seeds

1-2 pinch chia seeds

Place all inside ingredients in a blender, bananas and spinach at the bottom (spinach at the bottom guarantees all the leaves are blended up as small as possible).

Add milk about 3/4 the way up of the ingredients. Begin blending. You can always add more milk as you blend if the smoothie isn't coming together. To get a thick enough consistency for serving in a bowl, a lighter amount of milk is required; so add as needed. Get the smoothie to a thick yet creamy consistency and then it'll be ready to serve!

Garnish as you would like! It is nice having some chunks of the fruit mixed in with the smoothie to give you very filled and delicious bites!

Enjoy! :)
